KishHealth System welcomes director of nursing

New director of nursing Debra Bemis Debra L. Bemis, RN, BS, MSN, has joined KishHealth System as Director of Nursing. Bemis will split her time between Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb and Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich.
She comes to the system from Delnor Community Hospital where she worked for 18 years as a staff nurse, nursing manger and clinical business leader. Her career in nursing has included work in outpatient, inpatient, and physician office care.
She graduated as a diploma nurse from a school in Moline, and has her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Lewis University.
Pamela M. Duffy,, Vice President of Patient Care Services and Medical Staff for both hospitals, said she looks forward to working with Bemis in enhancing patient satisfaction, clinical practice, and the role of the professional nurse. “We are implementing a new patient- care model to raise the bar on quality, safety, and satisfaction. Deb will play a big roll in this process,” Duffy said.
