Gastroenterologists joining KCH medical staff
January 18, 2007Three board certified gastroenterologists from Geneva are joining the Kishwaukee Community Hospital medical staff and are seeing patients in Sycamore.
“We have been searching for GI specialists since the death of Dr. Michael Leist in 2003,” said Joseph Dant, KishHealth System Vice President, Business Development. “This a great win for the community. Not only are they very experienced, but they have been trained at some of the best medical schools and hospitals in the country," Dant said.
Drs. Carlos A. Rodriguez, Paul M. Gekas and Jeff Victor, of Gastrointestinal Health Associates, Geneva, have opened an office on the Midlands Professional Campus, Sycamore.
“For the time being, the doctors will split their time between here and Geneva, where they will also continue to be on staff at Delnor Community Hospital. A fourth gastroenterologist is expected to join the practice this summer and will have full time office hours here,” Dant said.
Dr. Gekas is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and he completed his residency and a fellowship at John Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Rodriguez, graduated from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center, Chicago.
Dr. Victor graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, Downers Grove, and completed his residency and fellowship at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge.
