Fit Fest 2007 set May 16

Celebrate National Employee Health and Fitness Day Wednesday, May 16, at Fit Fest 2007, presented by the Kishwaukee Family YMCA and Unlimited Performance Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, a department of Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
Walkers may navigate the noncompetitive course between 4 and 6 p.m. Area businesses with the highest percentage of participants will receive traveling trophies.
Corporate sponsors for the event include American National Bank of DeKalb County, B-95 WDKB-FM, Castle Bank, Midwest Refinishing, Oak Crest Retirement Center, The Daily Chronicle, Resource Bank, and National Bank and Trust Co. of Sycamore.
The 1.1 mile level, picturesque and handicap accessible course begins at Kishwaukee Community Hospital and continues through the neighborhood surrounding the hospital, including outside areas of the new hospital. In the event of bad weather, the walk will be held at the YMCA. Strollers and bikes and are welcome at the family friendly event.
Nutritious snacks and wellness screenings will be offered to participants at the event. Screenings are provided by Kishwaukee Family YMCA, Unlimited Performance Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine and Kishwaukee Corporate Health.
Early registration fee of $5 is due May 3, and assures a T-shirt on the day of the event. Children must be registered in order to receive a T-shirt. Late registration is available until 5:30 p.m. on walk day at a cost of $7, with T-shirts available at the YMCA at a later date.
