New Hospital Directors Join KCH Staff

Kishwaukee Community Hospital welcomes two new directors to help guide expansion of cardiology services and patient case management.
Heather Kalin, RN, MS, is the new Director of Cardiology. In this capacity she is responsible for development of the cardiac catheterization lab at KCH. She will also direct operations for the cardiac rehabilitation programs at KCH and Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich, part of the KishHealth System. She will also direct the cardiac lab at KCH.
Kalin brings with her many years of experience in cardiac catheterization labs. She played a key role in developing and managing the program at Scottsdale Healthcare, Scottsdale, AZ, where she worked before joining KCH. She also has extensive experience in intensive care, coronary care, and medical and surgical nursing. She is a certified critical care nurse.
Kalin holds a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and a master’s degree from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix.
Beth Gale, RN, is the new Director of Case Management for KCH and VWCH. In this capacity, she is directing operations for continuity of care and social work at both hospitals and the Center for Behavioral Health at KCH.
Gale has many years experience in medical, surgical and long-term care nursing, as well as expertise in case management, utilization review, and quality and health management. She has led quality and case management initiatives leading to significant improvements in patient outcomes.
Gale received her nursing diploma from the Burlington Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington, Iowa, and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing. Before joining KCH, she worked at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport.
