March of Dimes Announces 2008 March for Babies Fundraiser

Kishwaukee Community Hospital recently hosted the ribbon cutting and kickoff event for the March of Dimes’ annual March for Babies. Members of the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce joined March of Dimes representatives and volunteers to launch the annual fundraiser, which brings awareness to premature births and promotes healthy pregnancies.
Lisa Kijowski, March for Babies volunteer chairperson, and Jennifer Smith, division director for the March of Dimes, co-hosted the event. Awards were presented to the top teams and fundraisers from last year's event. Kishwaukee Community Hospital received the award for top corporate fundraising team. Awards were also given to Kristi Wig, top individual fundraiser, who raised $3,326, and Lisa Kijowski, who received the award for top family team.
This year's March for Babies will be held Saturday, April 26 in DeKalb's Hopkins Park. The 5K walk steps off at 10 a.m. and concludes with a complimentary lunch. If interested in joining a team or making a donation, contact the March of Dimes at www.marchforbabies.org or 1.800.525.9255.Share |
