Kishwaukee Health Foundation Hosts Appreciation Event
July 31, 2009
Kishwaukee Health Foundation recently honored the past year’s donors to Kishwaukee Community Hospital with a summertime celebration in Kish Hospital’s Healing Gardens. The recent event hosted over 260 guests who enjoyed hot dogs on the grill and ice cream on the patio. Therapy dogs from the hospital’s Healing Paws program also attended to the delight of all who attended.
According to Renee Ellingson, Kishwaukee Health Foundation’s executive director, “The event was a huge success because of the participation over the past year by the many generous donors in attendance, as well as those who were not able to make it to the event.” Ellingson, along with hospital administrator Brad Copple, and Virginia Larsen, the Health Foundation’s board chair, noted, “Even in tough economic times, the DeKalb-area community is very generous in helping to ensure quality healthcare far into the future.”
With the help of philanthropy, Kishwaukee Health Foundation assists KishHealth System in providing quality programs and services at Kishwaukee Community Hospital, Valley West Community Hospital, and DeKalb County Hospice. Donations enable the Health Foundation to bring to our area enhanced technology, services, and new programs that would not be possible without the generous help of donors.
