The volunteers and staff of Kishwaukee Community Hospital’s Green Leaf Gift Shop invite you to their Autumn Leaves Open House on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors to the shop can enjoy new fall and Halloween merchandise, special events, and refreshments.
Join us from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., for a book signing event by local author, Anne Matalonis. Her book “The Fox Behind the Chatter Box” is a cautionary tale about Internet safety for kids. Her books are available for sale in the gift shop.
During this event, meet several of the therapy dogs from Kish Hospital’s Healing Paws group. Volunteer Daisette McGrath is baking up some delectable dog biscuits that are sure to please our canine friends. Don’t forget to purchase some for your dog while you’re there.
At the open house, you can sample recipes from the Kish Hospital Auxiliary Cookbook and take advantage of special promotions throughout the day including a cookbook sale (buy two cookbooks, get one free) and a drawing for prizes.
Musical entertainment is provided by students from Northern Illinois University’s Community School of the Arts, Suzuki Violin Program and Victoria Yong on the harp.
All proceeds from the Green Leaf Gift Shop benefit patient care at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
