Car Show Committee Donates to New Cancer Center

The Turning Back Time Sycamore Car Show Committee made a donation to The Cancer Center at Kishwaukee Community Hospital which is opening later this month. Proceeds from the annual car show, held July 26 in Sycamore, were donated to area organizations chosen by the committee. The donation in the amount of $1,825 was given this year. The donation came from the proceeds of the silent auction held at the car show and monetary contributions.
Contributors to the car show’s silent auction were: Auto Meter Products Inc., Sycamore; Rick Bendinelli, Bendi Enterprises, West Dundee; Tom Dickenson, Snap-On Tools, Rockford; Ideal Industries, Sycamore; Ellen Jacobsen; Urban Tanks, DeKalb; Connie Wheeler; and the committee members and their families. Guy Stone, car show committee member said, “Thank you to everyone who donated items and money to the car show and we really appreciate all of the individuals who helped out at the event.”
Donations from this year’s and the 2009 car shows totaled $5,025. Renee Ellingson, KishHealth Foundation executive director said, “We thank the committee for the wonderful donation they graciously earmarked for the new Cancer Center again this year. We are incredibly grateful for their support and all the hard work they put into their event. It is an honor to be one of the organizations they have chosen to give to.”
The 2010 Turning Back Time Car Show Committee members are Chuck Criswell, Les Gibbens, Mike Lindgren, John Pierce, Guy Stone, Tom Taylor, Mike Tritle, and Terry Wheeler.Share |
