Free Mammos for Uninsured Women
August 1, 2012
Uninsured women ages 40-64 can receive a free mammogram and Pap test at Kishwaukee Community Hospital’s second annual “Women Matter” event Sept. 5 and 6.
Appointments must be made in advance and are available on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 4 to 7:40 p.m., and on Thursday, Sept.6, from noon to 3:40 p.m.
Seated chair massages, information from local agencies, refreshments, and a gift for each participant also will be provided.
“Women Matter” is sponsored by Kish Hospital and the Community Cares Clinic and is made possible through funding provided by KishHealth Foundation. If the screenings result in positive findings, free diagnostic tests will be covered by The Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP).
There are no income eligibility criteria other than being uninsured or having insurance that does not cover mammograms. Appointments can be made by calling Kish Hospital Outpatient Scheduling at 815.748.2975.
