Preadmission Interview
A member of our pre-admission nursing staff will contact you within one week prior to your surgery to start your pre-operative assessment. If the time of the call is inconvenient for you, a more convenient time for the interview will be scheduled. The interview will take about 30 minutes and may be scheduled, if necessary, to take place at the hospital. During the interview a nurse will ask questions about your health that will allow our staff to know you better and provide you with the personal care you deserve.
If you have been a patient at Kishwaukee Community Hospital or Valley West Community Hospital previously, the information may simply need to be updated. Important contact information will also be obtained. Make sure to have your medication list (with dosages) available as the nurse will be asking you questions about this information. You will also be given instructions regarding what medications to take the morning of your surgery based on this information.
