Rapid Response System
Kishwaukee Community Hospital is committed to providing the safest patient environment possible and take an active stance in partnering with our patients and their families to make this happen. As such, we have created what we call a rapid response system. Patients and/or family members can activate the rapid response system when the patient or family member feels an emergency situation has arisen and/or the need to get emergent attention from the staff exists. When the patient or family activates the rapid response system, staff with special training will respond to assess the situation and take action.
When to call a Rapid Response – any time there is a sudden change in the patient’s bleeding, breathing, urinating or thinking, or if the patient suddenly does not feel right.
How to call a Rapid Response – activate the patient’s call light and say, “I need a Rapid Response.”
